Securing an Internship
From Intern to Tax Consultant: Jacqueline’s Journey.
Jacqueline Vasquez, a junior majoring in Finance, secured an internship with LL Services, a bookkeeping company in Odessa, Texas, this past Summer. During her internship, Jacqueline gained real-world experience and learned new skills in the world of accounting and taxes. As a Finance major, working in accounting is something she noted pushed her to step out of her comfort zone. Her hard work paid off when she was offered a part-time role as a tax consultant with the company. This experience has given her a stronger understanding of the mix of Finance and Accounting along with a boost of confidence as she moves forward in her career.
From Classroom to Cummins: Mickelange’s Hands on Experiences.
Mickelange Prince, a senior majoring in Chemical Engineering, secured his second summer internship with Indiana based auto manufacturer, Cummins, Inc. This past summer, Prince worked as an Electronic Systems Engineer as part of their emissions solutions team (CES). His internship provided hands on experience with engine aftertreatment systems and opportunities to build important skills in product testing, communication, data analysis, and problem solving. The lessons he learned and connections he made will continue to shape Prince’s network in his engineering career.
