Job Duties:
This position provides analytics in understanding and improving how health care is valued, utilized and provided. This position will assist in developing analytic and predictive models that pertain to patient level health utilization/outcome, provider performance measures, risk-adjusted revenue optimization, medical cost management, and behavior attributes on patient/provider engagement. In collaboration with other business areas and IT, this position provides predictive and prescriptive analytics support through machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies.
Required Qualifications:
- Degree program(s) / Current Status: Senior level undergraduate, recent graduate or graduate level student in a related field, preferably in health care administration, statistics, economics, mathematics, analytics, computer science, finance, accounting business or other quantitative/health care field.
- Previous internship experience is not required but preferred.
- Cumulative GPA: 3.0+ GPA preferred; minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA.
Other Qualifications:
- Must have proficiency with commonly used database, spreadsheet, and word processing software (i.e. MS SQL Server, Teradata Studio, MS Access, MS Excel, MS Word).
- Working knowledge in a common statistical analysis software package preferred (e.g. R, Python, SAS Base, SAS Enterprise Guide and SAS Enterprise Miner). Working knowledge in data visualization software is preferred (e.g. Tableau, Power BI). Proficiency in programming language is preferred (e.g. Python, R, C, SAS).
- Knowledge of predictive analytics and/or statistical analysis
- Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication abilities.
- Basic knowledge of United States health care delivery system in payer setting or provider setting
- Must be able to think analytically and present ideas professionally.
- Self-motivated, adaptable to a changing work environment, and team-oriented.
- Reasonable proximity to ONE of our Louisiana office locations listed is required: Alexandria, Baton Rouge, Houma, Lafayette, Lake Charles, Monroe, New Orleans and Shreveport.
