Marketing Intern (Social Media & PR Focus)
As a Marketing Intern specializing in Social Media and Public Relations, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the public voice and digital identity of Vaccine Genie. You’ll support outreach, community engagement, and brand visibility through creative storytelling and strategic media outreach. This role is perfect for students with a passion for Health Tech, Digital Health, or Healthcare Communication, and an interest in startup culture and international engagement.

Responsibilities
- Assist in creating and scheduling content across social media platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), and YouTube.
- Draft blog posts and thought leadership pieces for public and industry audiences.
- Help maintain consistent brand messaging and voice across all communication channels.
- Conduct social listening and trend analysis to optimize digital presence and engagement.
- Assist in building media lists and drafting outreach messages to journalists, bloggers, and influencers.
- Monitor and report on key PR and social media metrics and performance insights.
Skills Required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Research-savvy and detail-oriented.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a remote team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
- Experience with a variety of Social Media Platforms.
- Working knowledge of Canva, Adobe Express, or similar.
- Knowledge of Slack and ClickUp a plus.
- A self-starter mindset with excellent organizational skills.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- Strong written communication and content creation skills.
- Familiarity with social media tools (e.g., Canva, Buffer, Hootsuite, Figma).
- Interest in healthcare communication, digital advocacy, and tech for good.
- Ability to work across cultures and time zones in a remote team.
- Experience in media outreach or storytelling for impact is a plus.
Other Details
- Basic Internship Details: This is an Unpaid Internship working on an unfunded Health Tech Startup.
- Hours: The hours are flexible and will be based on your availability up to a maximum of 10 hours.
- Work Location: All work is remote.
- Communication: There will be meetings over Zoom or Google Meet with your team. Tasks are handed out through ClickUp and communication is handled through Slack.

Mentorship: This is based on which Group you are in.
- Tech Interns will work closely with the CTO & Developer Leads.
- UX, Business, and Marketing Interns will work closely with the COO, CEO, & their Department Leads.
- All Interns will have the opportunity to work with their peers.
- Internship Duration: The Internship will last for a period of 6-months from date of hire after which the student can choose to reapply.
