Department Description:
The Upper Providence Pilot Plant Engineering team is dedicated to the delivery of clinical and developmental API through high quality engineering evaluation and planning, set-up and process execution while ensuring safe and compliant operations within the pilot plant.
Job Description:
In this role, you will work with the process engineering team to deliver necessary services to the Upper Providence Small Molecule pilot plant. In this co-op, you will:
- Perform engineering assessments to identify and address process issues.
- Design or reconfigure equipment train to address process specific reaction, extraction, distillation, crystallization, or isolation.
- Collaborate to draft effective batch records to facilitate safe and right-first-time manufacture of both development and clinical batches.
- Provide on-the-floor coverage and guidance to operators.
- Identify and facilitate introduction of new equipment or technologies into the pilot plant.
- Coordinate equipment and facility maintenance activities with maintenance personnel.
Basic Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or similar disciplines.
- Must be able to work full-time (35-40 hours/week) throughout the duration of the 6-month co-op (June 2024 – December 2024).
- Must have an active student status and/or within 12 months post-graduation from a BS or MS degree program. Post-doctoral candidates are not eligible.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a GxP facility.
- Experience with small molecule drug development unit operations.
- Has completed a college accredited organic chemistry course.

Candidates who are hired for an on-site role or hybrid role, and reside outside of 50-miles from their assigned work location, are eligible for relocation stipend.
